Weddings at The Gathering Barn

The Gathering Barn is all about giving you the time and space to create your own tailor made celebration. Individuality is positively encouraged and the stunning blank canvas allows imaginations to run wild and unique spaces to be created.

A 4 day exclusive hire of the venue and accommodation, from a Thursday morning to a Sunday afternoon, allows a gentle build up to the Saturday Wedding, with ample time to decorate and party and then a chilled Sunday to wind down, open presents and relax.

With under floor heating throughout and a log burner, the venue cosily caters for winter weddings too.

Set around the south facing courtyard the U shaped building includes 2 barns Licensed to hold Marriage Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships.

  • The Long Barn holds 120 for the ceremony, 100 seated at tables, with 80 on the ground floor level and 20 in The Loft and 160 standing.
  • The Middle Barn holds 100 for the ceremony, 65 seated at tables and 100 standing.
  • The whole venue holds a maximum of 200 people including staff.

We allow any professional caterer to use our catering kitchen (subject to approval) and the bar area can be supplied with your own bought in drinks, or run by an outside bar company. We do not charge corkage on any drinks.

There are Ladies and Gents WC’s and a disabled WC with baby changing facilities.

The accommodation sitting room can be used during a function as a quiet area to sit comfortably in sumptuous leather sofas and catch up with all those guests you haven’t seen for years, without battling with the noise of the party – a wonderful space, much appreciated by all and often lacking at other venues.

Couples that would like a church wedding are surrounded by a diversity of churches to choose from, with small pretty country churches in the Deverill Valley and Hindon, to larger town churches in Mere and Warminster.

The delightful courtyard offers beautiful views, a selection of outdoor furniture and is carefully planted for interest all year round. There is a grass paddock opposite for camping, games and pretty much anything else from fireworks to helicopters. Ample, concrete, flood lit parking is situated behind the venue.
